REGISTERING A DOMAIN IN A NEW GTLD THAT MATCHES A TRADEMARK RECORD AT THE TRADEMARK CLEARINGHOUSE

When a new domain registration is submitted in a new gTLD, within the first 90 days of the new gTLD entering the General Availability phase we, the registrar, verifies whether or not the requested domain name has a matching trademark registered at the Trademark Clearinghouse. If a matching trademark does exists, we will send the potential registrant an email;

The title of the email will be “Please Review Trademark Information for {domain.name}” and it will be sent from our hostmaster@ email address”

This email will contain a link to a webpage with details about the registered trademark, this requires an affirmative response to complete the domain registration.

The registrant must agree to this notice within 24 hours of applying for the domain or the registration of the domain will not be completed and the domain name never registered.
